Feeling so down what is wrong with me??

Hi

I'm new posting here and I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, I'm feeling so down and desperate.

For the past 12 months I've been having episodes of illness with my digestion. It began and the dr thought I had gallstones but had an ultrasound but it came back clear.

The blood test that my dr took while he suspected gallstones showed I had an infection.

My main symptoms are either sudden vomitting & diarrhea with the worst stomach pain in the world, usually not long after eating, or I am vomitting undigested food in a morning and will bring up last nights food, 9 hours or more after eating.

I've had a endoscopy and it showed a hiatus hernia but the consultant isn't happy and I am due to have a barium test and an mri.

I've tried cutting out all sorts of foods and feel like I'm at my wits end I don't know what to do anymore.

If anyone could provide advise I would be grateful

Hi claw, im really sorry youre feeling so poorly right now.

Ive found a low fibre diet can help with some of the pain and loo visits.

Its reassuring that they arent just leaving you and theyre following up on tests.

I forgot to say, have they sent off a stool sample to check for bugs and things for you?

If not you couls ask your gp to arrange x

Yes I've had a stool sample done, my GP is rubbish really unhelpful I've had to push for everything.

Seems to be the problem having to nag for anything!!!

Hopefully the mri wont take too long to come through.

Luckily I've got the dates for mid March, so won't be long. Just hope I get an answer soon I can't take much more.

Does it sound like Chrons?x

I randomly puke when i get an obstruction, pain an hour or so after food, i had gastritis for years and my bad bellies were passed off as anxiety and bugs for years and i mean years.

It was only when i lost loads of weight and my bloods went off they did anything and emergency admission that i got diagnosed.

Same with my aunty, so i hope the mri does the job as it will see bits the scopes dont always reach x

you could have Crohn's disease, the barium xray will show if you have a blockage in the small intestine. A blockage would cause the symptoms you are having. I hope they can help you soon. Hang in there.

Hi, It sounds like crohn's. I know because I hav crohn's for 8 years.  I suggest  bloods taken and stool sample.

Sorry to hear you're unwell... I know how you feel. I was poorly all last year and after numerous tests etc my pain was being caused due to my bowel being blocked. My problem was related to the ilium and in November I had to have a small part of my bowel resected and I haven't looked back since. The dreadful pain has gone and like you I cut most foods out of my diet thinking it was specific food. But in the end anything I would eat would cause me pain. For now try sticking to a low fibre diet.

Hopefully your mri scan should show more??

Also in specific to crohns? Usually bloods and stool needs to show inflammation and you may need a colonoscopy... Keep going to your Gp... Don't give up!!! Usually once you're referred to a specialist things start looking better.
