I've had what sounds like my heart is beating in my ear/ head

That can be a sign of high blood pressure & it is also a known side effect of some drugs.

Have you bee to see your GP?

if  sounds to me like a pulse beating it's the blood rushing around, check your blood pressure but I am sure you will be fine

Yes happened to me when on course steroids esp when lying down at night. Best get checked.
