Whenever I feel anxious or feel something different in my mouth I automatically think my throats gonna close up or sometimes if I eat something !? Idk what to do, I’m scared and I’m not allergic to anything that I know of!? Anyone else get this feeling?? I also have post nasal drip at the moment so that is making it worse, please comment advice
I hate that one. When anxiety kicks in recently my nose opens up big time and I get post nasal drip. I feel as though somethings going on in my throat. Then I feel I cant breathe well, hyperventilation is my biggest issue right now.
Im on clonopin as needed. Just started Serzone, 2 weeks ago trying to kick this. I just eat slower. I can feel the food going down slow and scares the s**t out of me so I just noticed for a month now I barely eat when I feel this. (good for losing weight?). Slow bites, slow swallows until you feel better.
It sucks pink.
Post nasal drip is only temporary, right?
It's a common complaint for people who suffer from anxiety (called either 'plumpit' or globus pharyngis'. I don't experience it myself but I know that breathing techniques can help, look for the 'pursed lips breathing technique' on this site, it helps in alleviating stress and in relaxing your throat.
Post nasal drip is a different story; I have it since a decade or so, and is probably an autoimmune reaction. If you find a cure I would be happy to hear about it.
PSI didn't mean to add a smiley after pharyngis, don't know how to remove that.
This happens to me sometimes lmao. It happens when your anxiety really kicks in. It's kind of a rare one for me, but it sucks. Although it feels like your choking, your not having an allergic reaction. Anxiety will make you feel like that. Your mind is a powerful thing. When it happens you have to learn how to take deep breaths & calm down. I k ow it's hard, but there's nothing wrong with you.
Stay strong. Xoxo
