Fell over, 6 1/2 weeks after op

Very sore. Had a fall two nights ago. 6 1/2 weeks after op and waiting for my post-op x-ray on Friday. Had the op on the right, which hurts more now than before I fell, but left is also hurting now. Just feeling stupid and sorry for myself...

I hope you'll be ok...That's a fear with me walking on the snow and ice we have here. I have ice grippers when I shovel but not when I'm out shopping. Trying to be careful for sure.

I have been SO careful. I don't even remember how I fell. It was getting up from my computer chair. That's how I fell the first time when I broke my right hip, but that time I'd hit my left on the corner of the desk and fell when recoiling. I didn't hit the desk this time; just the floor. I am glad my daughter was at home to help me get up...

Falling has been a huge fear of mine since I was in my 30s and I have always been over-cautious in that department. I don't even get on down escalators, which drives shopping companions nuts sometimes. But I never really thought it would get me like this...

Ouch, so sorry, Belle! 6 1/2 weeks is so soon after surgery. Hope all the pain from both hips start to lessen soon. I have had a couple of minor falls every year for the last number of years. But since my THR in July, I have been slow as molasses and very careful. And we have the ice and snow, too, which makes it even more scary. Best wishes to you!

Hi Belle,

That is a bit concerning when you don't remember the fall ... Were you dizzy or light headed at that time ? could it be a side effect of the pain medication you are on?  low blood pressure?

Of course you are hurting darling - you're probably bruised ...

take it easy and be careful ...

very curious to know what will show on the x-ray

big warm hug
