Femoston?

Hi

I have been on Diane35 for several years and feel it is time to change. Menopause is very late in our family - my mother had a miscarriage when she was 58 -. I am on the Diane35 because I lost so much hair and also none of the other pills agreed with me. The hairloss has been stabilised. So I am naturally a bit anxious about changing. So I like to prepare as much as I can.

It has been suggested to me that I try Femoston 2/10 (HRT) as  it will slowly stop the bleedings, whilst still giving you homones. I know it is not an ACP but  I don't need that. I just need the homones for my hair.

However I read that Femoston 2/10 can only be taken if you haven't had your periods for 6 months. This is not the case with me. Still have them.

Is there anyone out there that recently has been on Femoston or even any other HRT following the pill?

Hi Jow. Natural, oral micronized progesterone stopped my hair loss (70% in 6 months at the Meno. onset).  X

Thank you for that TeresaJS

Hi Jow. I ...The pills you've been taking are quite "heavy". To go through a change in hormones replacement you'll need some ajustments, and it may take a while. I would try to go on to bioidentical (prescription) HRT, combining low dose estradiol gel/patches + oral micronized progesterone. That's what I am having now. All the best. Teresa.
