Curious if anybody has any idea if ferritin levels would read lower immediately after a venesection or a week after?
You might find that in a medical research paper - it most likely would be different for everybody.
Personally I have venesection and then get my blood tested a few days afterwards
What do the test results reveal to you? I find it useful to know what my levels are at the end of the period before I have a vx.
Hi Jax, yes, your ferritin levels can read lower shortly after venesection…you can register 20 to 50 points lower after one session, normally people use 1 to 2 points a day, so the venesection is the only way to reduce iron overload quickly to prevent long term damage…since it does depend on each individual, you may have to do venesection more often or less…depending on your numbers!!![]()

yes know this …but my question is do you know by experience if your levels would read lower immediately after or would it take a few days to fully register the benefit of the vx.
Someone on I think the Excessiron forum linked to the American Iron Disorders Institute said that the best time to get an accurate reading was 2 to 3 weeks after venesection.
me too
