Fibro and B12

Hi  Looking for some advise really  My Gp took bloods from me last week as I was asking for stronger painkillers and complaining of being constantly exhausted  Today he rang me and said he wants to see me this week as my B12 levels were almost non existent???   Anyone know anything about B12 and Folate??  Thanks

Hi Wendy

This could actually be very good news as there could be a confusion over fibro when infact it could be a b12 problem especially if they are non existing because with meds THIS can be cured I will keep all things I can cross crossed for you anyway that this may be the reason behind your problems and not fibro

Thanks Chris  That would be good news as I expect that by taking more B12 then I would get better?   Would that explain my pain and my fibro fog??   Not sure what B12 is and what i should be eating to raise it

Yes Wendy it would that's why I am sayin this might be the reason and not fibro... check the Internet all the symtoms off both are alike I know what I'd rather have... having treatment for b12 won't be a quick fix as I would imagine it will take a while 2 build up but it will lessen your symptoms gradually and only time will tell

🙏🙏🙏

Thanks Chris   Got appt for Wednesday  I will let you know what he says  Fingers crossed smile

Thanks Wendy...this could be a bit if a key to Fibro..must check it out...my bloods were perfect this year but I do wonder if anything  so specific was checked,,,,very very interesting..please let us know what happens, be blessed, have a lovely day..:-) xxx

iv been taking it for years sublingul i am just giving it a break for now

.but if your that low it might mean injections my mother inlaw used to have to have them . not the most painless of injections but will be the quickest why of getting it up .

so will be worth it. hope you feel better soon.

Hi Wendy, deficiency of Vit B12 is called pernicious anaemia. If you google it you can find out all the symptoms it can cause. It is treated by monthly injections I'm afraid! Or it might be three monthly. This is part of the reason I had to give up nursing. (The poor memory I mean.) Anyway, Google it and good luck, and here's hoping you don't have fibro! xx

Hi again Wendy, just googled it myself(once a nurse....) and it could indeed be responsible for many of your symptoms. I remember a patient who had it on my very first ward. It all came back to me then! PLEASE let us all know how you get on. xx

it is monthly . fibro makes you struggle with your memory  that and fatigue i find harder to bare than the pain . i know its frustrating but its not your fault .

Thats my worse part of whatever is wrong with me   The Fog   I feel as though I sometimes turn into a complete imbecile   Can barely string a sentence toghether and can remember nothing   The pain I can deal with on most days ( apart from the headaches and complete exhaustion) but the Fog gets me down  I have also begun to suffer panic like attacks  Will let everyone know what my Gp comes back with   Thanks to all x

i some times forgot how to spell simply words its really scary .

My wife recently tried a B12 spray that you squirt three times under the tongue every morning each bottle lasts 30 days and is about £11.00.

She then dropped it andhad kept a diary of how she felt. Her energy was definetly up while using the spray.

Excellent ...:-) xx great endorsement ..

That is really interesting, I had bloods done last year and got same results as you. I was given Folate tablets and told I must eat leafy vegetables!  I don't like veg at all so I got a blender and started making smoothies with Kale, Spinach, Blueberries, raspberries, Bananas, Beetroot and any thing I can get in Morrisons. I was told to go back to gp in three months, I did and everything is now normal! I got a cheap blender to start, it didn't last long so I got one of the ones ones advertised on TV. I'm not saying it will work for you but it is worth a try, maybe ask your gp when you see him/her.

everything crossed here for you too

Shelagh

Oops!! Forgot to say, it hasn't helped my fibro at all but it may help you.

Back from seeing GP who has just taken more bloods   He says I may need injections as my diet includes all the things that I should be eating but that my body seems not to be retaining what it needs   Results and another visit to GP next week when he will have decided what to do with me Lol  So no further on as yet   Thanks for all of your responses  xx
