Hi
im due to see the Rheumatologist on 1st Feb as will hopefully get a diagnosis although I know they have to rule other things out first.. I've many things ruled out from MRI's, blood tests and other things.
For the past few months I have noticed my memory seems to be getting bad. I can be in mid flow of a conversation and I totally forgot what I'm talking about and no matter what I can't remember anything, I forget where I have put things. It seems to be my short term memory that is affected. I never used to be forgetful but now I am.
Is this something that gets worse as it seems to be more frequent than when I first noticed it? I find it very frustrating when I'm in the middle of a conversation and I totally forget what I'm talking about.
Not it sure if there is anything that can help
any advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks x
Hi there memory.loss is.certainly one.of the Fibro symptoms unfortunately as well as amnesia as we have a low level of serotonin. I have had Fibromyalgia for 8years and am findingy recovery from shoulder surgery has been doubly longer due to this!!
Fibro fog is definitely part and parcel of. And as you say it is frustrating to forget mid conversation what you want to say, as it is to go into a room and forget why you're there!!
I haven't noticed that it's got worse, perhaps more often at the mo',but then this weather makes all my pains worse. I never know day to day how things will be!
Hope all goes well when you see the rheumatologist, I was diagnosed by CMAT, but need to see rheumatoilogy because they think I may have Sjorgen's syndrome. I have had 2 appointments cancelled and I now have to wait until May!!
Hi alison44707 memory problems are all part and parcel of fibro trouble with spelling words mixing sentences up confusion. Ive had problems with memory since having fibro. keeping your mind active word searches reading games my dr sent me to a memory clinic in 2014 just to check nothing else was going on. all the best for your appointment on 1st feb take care
