I'm new on the site and was wondering if anyone else out there has hot sweats when asleep with fibro? I have had this for about 12months and i come back negative for menopause. Getting really fed up with waking up very cold and so wet through that I have to get changed into something dry and move over to the other side of the bed.
Hi there is a thread running at the moment about sweating. You're not alone. It's regarding to your Autonomatic Nervous System getting your internal heat readings wrong I'm afraid. I have just bought a gel mat off ebay to help cool me down. This is something you can use at night. If you can link onto the other thread there are more people talking about it on there. Good Luckx
Hello Mandy, I have been having night sweats for around 6/7 months now , I thought it was early menopause I am only 42 . I havent been tested for menopause , i mentioned it to my doctor but it just seemed to go over her head. I have just had the marina coil fitted for two reasons heavy periods but mainly i have catamenial epilepsy. It is horrible , literally dripping with sweat in the night get up to piddle then get changed also start shivering. It seems to be part of fibro. come to the right site people give great advice. good luck keep in touch.
Hi Mandy. I too have awful night sweats but only when I have a flare-up. Otherwise I just feel really overheated whenever I wake up. The last time I experienced such awful night sweats was just after I had my last child and i assumed at the time it was hormonal imbalance. Not sure what all this means but thought you'd like to know you're not alone with this symptom.
I've had Fibro for over 22 years now and I still struggle with those hot sweaty nights in bed..even in winter..have a great day..be blessed...Black Cohosh works well for me:-) xxx Cold gentle hugs...lol..
Hi Mandy, I'm new to the site too but its great to know that there are people out there that understand what we are going through. I get night sweats too. I try to sleep with at least one arm on the outside of the duvet and I wear a cotton t-shirt to bed and try not to pull the duvet right up under my chin. we also didnt put on the 15tog this winter and stuck at a 10tog instead (hubby shivered but it worked a bit better for me). I find that alcohol makes the sweats worse as does a chinese takeaway for tea so i am looking hard at my diet to try and work out what foods work best for me.
Night sweats are all part of Fibro too unfortunately..most if us thought it was early menapause....now that's BORING ..lol....hot or cold all day sometimes..grr
I'm seeing a specialist on fibro on Monday so good to get some feedback from others as I now know my symptoms are not just me and are part of the fibro thing.
If I learn anything usefull will post on the forum.
