Has anybody else got fibroids after menopause?
Hi Wendy…I’ve had fibroids for many years. No period for a year now. My gyn of more than 20 years wasn’t concerned about those at my yearly check up in June. He perscribed Provera to induce a bleed. Thickening uterine lining is his focus.
Yes, Wendi…I have a few small ones and I large one. Had a test called a hysteroscopy back in July to make sure everything else was alright. Doc said to keep pads handy because they will bleed whenever they feel like it, such a fun thing to hear at 59.
HI Wendy, yes when i turn 50 Years old i developed one FIBROID it was hanging off my Uterus Cavity…i since had this out because i dont trust them…they made me bleed so bad i was clotting as well, but im now full blown meno ive went through it no more periods and feel great, my mum also had them so its deffo a link…so if you are over bleeding you may need to see GYNO ok.
Ho Maria , how long were you bleeding from the fibroid ? i was spotting fpe 2 weeks then last friday a full blown period for a good couple days then spotting…its been a week of that now. im so tired of this…im gonna tell my Dr i want hysterectomy asap im so over this ! I dont want to leave any room for cancer down the line.
Not sure when I got my uterine fibroid but they found it probably when my menopause ended. It can happen to a few people. I think it depends how far your estrogen drops. The less estrogen the more chance the fibroid will shrink. Mine actually started to grow a bit which sort of freaked me out but I think that had to do with my HRT.
If it starts to get too big there is a new type of treatment where they use sound waves or something to break it up instead of digging out. My is so intertwined that it would cause more damage to remove. My obgyn went in when my other surgeon went in to remove my gall bladder. He did not remove it because he did not want to cause too much damage and he knew I wanted to keep my uterus.
