I'm 25 and I was diagnosed with fibro about 4 years ago but I've had my symptoms for 13 years.
My main source of pain is my back, it aches and hurts more or less all of the time.
I see an osteopath regularly and he has suggested I look into facet joint denervation as he believes I also have structural problems as well as fibromyalgia.
I am interested to know whether anyone else has tried the denervation that has fibromyalgia and how it has worked for them.
Have you had X-ray or MRI of your back.?
it may help you with a diagnosis knowing more about what back discs are involved and what may be causing the pain.
FM is difficult to cope with and many use stretching and gentle exercises learned fron Physio therapy. It this fail then it would be in your best interest to follow thru with X-ray and MRI.
I have had the denovation in my neck a few years ago but unfortunately things did not grtvany better
Although i have still been diagnosed with Fibro I do have chronic pain syndrom. Please be careful before having surgery of any kind.

Hi Louisa, yes I have had facet joking denervation in both my cervical and lumbar spine. I have suffered years with osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and cfs, cervical and lumbar degenerative disc disease (spondylosis) and facet joint disease. I am now back on the list to have radiofrequency denervation again as although this really did help me, the nerves do regenerate. My specialist also does some cortisone injections at the same time. The denervation treatment is burning away of the nerves.
I have had fairly regular MRI scans and I would never undergo this or any other treatment without first having a proper diagnosis of my condition. Please ensure you are referred for an MRI. Good luck with getting a proper diagnosis of what is causing your pain xc
I had a scan years ago when they were trying to work out what was going on. My osteopath has said I will need a scan before to see if is able to be done.
I've had physio, chiropractor, acupuncture, medication and I stretch every day but nothing has helped at all so I'm wanting to try whatever now as the thought of being in this pain for ever is not a great one!
