Hi Gill,

I hope all is going well with you and that you are better coping with your job. I noted that you were talking to Tina about vitamin D deficiency, I was found to be deficient and my doctor prescribed a ten day intensive course and now I'm on one a month (capsule) and I will be having my levels checked again in September. Like Tina, I think that this is down to me being mainly indoors due to mobility issues or the heat.  I am much better when feeling cooler without a doubt.

I wish you well,

Gin

Hello can any one help?

I have been in my emplyment for 18 months. I have been struggling and have recently been diagnosed with Fibromialgia. I wish to let HR know - but will this mean they will let me go? I have been reliable but recently had odd days off as holiday does anyone know the law on this I want to stay working as it is only 20 hours per week and I love my job.

I am upset and confused

Hi  Sorry to hear you are feeling confused.  I believe that HR will not be able to let you go.  Having fibromyalgia classes you as disabled in the eyes of an employment tribunal so if they did let you go this would be discrimination.  I posted on here originally about work and fibromyalgia - just as an update, I left my job as it was getting too much for me and now have a part time Christmas job in my local Sainsbury's.  I am feeling much better as my stress levels have gone right down.  I had been taking Naproxen for joint pain but discovered after an endoscopy that I had severe gastritis.  Don't know if this was caused by stress or the Naproxen.  Anyway now have a morhpine patch as all is good at the moment.

Hi, I have ME and Fibro. I also failed my 3 months probation, this was extended and they let me go at the time of the second review. Were not prepared to go through why etc. I was not offered a chance to apply for other jobs currently vacant.

If they have not made reasonable adjustments to accommodate your disability, they will be breaching the Equality Act, Have you contacted the Equality Advisory Service and ACAS?

Would appreciate any help you can offer me as I think its unfair.
