Finger pain on middle finger and knot on Knuckle?

Don't know how I've hurt my finger,but have a hard knot on knuckle,whole finger swollen can't bend very painful?What is this?

You could have broken a bone. I would go to A&E or your doctor to have it checked out.

Matron,I haven't hurt it that I know of,but may have to.I kept soaking in warm epson salt water,Ice also.Just got worse.Thank you

Sorry I misunderstood. I apologise. However I think you should see your GP. As a nurse I know it could be one of a few things eg. an infection in the joint. I've never heard of soaking a joint in Epsom salts and don't know how this would help.
