I have been patient and been biding my time, and listening to my doctor about my recovery.
I had my lap chole on June 8th and was finally cleared to return to normal activity on the 22nd.
The toughest thing before the surgery was playing ice hockey, and the 6 weeks after the surgery was not being able to play. The 5 months before my surgery, every time I played, I would end up in pain, I would dry heave constantly, and be so run down that it took every ounce of energy I had left to get off the ice. Ironically, I had my best season while playing with a bad gallbladder.
Tonight, I was abLe to get back out on the ice with my friends, and it felt great. Granted I wasn't 100% but I get better tonight than I had in the past 6 months of playing. I didn't hurt (other than the spasms I've been dealing with), I didn't dry heave, and I had energy by the end of the game.
It will take a while to get my wind and legs back, but it was a relief to be able to play and fee normal again.
That's fantastic, so pleased for you :-). I also had a lot of pain when I excersed before my op, I was told it was un connected to my gallbladder, and that gallbladder problems aren't made worse by a and gallbladder! so you have given me hope that I will be able to get back to swimming and belly dancing
This has givne me real hope. I have suffered from ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis) for the last 25 years. My first gallbladder attack was 30 years ago. It was the typical Gallbladder attack but nothing more was ever done. Over the years I have had symptoms that werent typical GB I didnt think and just presusmed I had an ulcer. I Was treated for acid reflux . I am now beginning to wonder as is my GP wether the gallbladder problem I have has somehow played a part in this. The last 10 years I have had such extreme fatigue and my health has deteriorated but since being aware that my gallbladder needs to come out I have begun to see that when I have the pain the fatigue is worse. It may all be a red heriing but until I have it out and recover on the 25th August I wont know for usre but I am really beginning to believe that a disease Gallbladder may have played a big part in my deteriorating health. So reading about your story has reminded me a little of my situation and it is so lovely to hear that you have made such a wonderful recovery so far I am so pleased for you and wish you many happy hours of playing your game .
The doctor told me that my pain and nausea during my exercising were probably caused by my gallbladder. I had none of the symptoms last night that I had dealt with the previous 5 months.
And also I had heard from others who had their gallbladder out that they always got sick and had pain when they exercised while they were dealing with it. After they had it out, no issues.
