Hello hippies I hope you are all recovering well whatever stages you are in.
I am now 14 weeks post and just returned from a week long trip to Inverness. Took the train into London then 2 tube changes to get to Kings Cross. To board my 8 hour non stop to Inverness. A little traumatic on the tube with so many people and my small case and no way of letting people know I needed space. Only one flight of steps about 8 treads but a kindly person carried my case up. Coming back there was a delay when the carriage door would not shut and the coach I was in taken off and we were all squashed into another. Fortunately I had to change at Edinburgh for London. However to delay I missed connection and had to wait another hour. From start to finish the return took 12 hours. Have returned home unscathed but very tired and a little achy today. Resting up. At least I have proven to myself that travelling alone is okay and it has given me a boost. I can now look forward to my refund for being an hour late
Yes it was a challenge and good for other line hippies to know it is doable. It was lovely to catch up with sisters, especially one who is living with cancer.
See you are both on the mend Gill hope it continues
Well done I am 51/2 weeks post op still using 2 crutches whilst out, haven't even attempted steps/stairs yet. Went down to our caravan today we are going to take it out locally for 3 night's and see how we get on, climbing the step in was not problem. I have been given another 4 weeks off from work
You have monumentally bravely proven to yourself that this major surgery WILL NOT HOLD YOU DOWN! Awesome! Kudos to you!
Keep on keeping on! I am close to four months post op with a two month delay in bearing weight, so have been walking for almost two months and yesterday I pushed myself into the unknown and suceeded, so I can kind of feel you.
Thank you Dawn. It is the grass court tennis season so lots of TV. I am sure like me you feel over cautious at times and this prevents us doing things. I walked along the pebble beach as uneven surfaces helps with our balance. Hope you too are resting and recovering from your mammoth push forward. I was able to weight bear from day one and also not suffering with pain in other hip yet
