I’ve been back and forth to the doctors over the past month and a half about a UTI. I’ve had numerous tests done but haven’t had a scan yet. I’m on a course of antibiotics now and am now getting severe flank pain. Should I go back to the doctors or carry on my antibiotics
Hi Lauren
The answer is both, continue with antibiotics and make appointment with gp.
If you develop a fever then you need to go to ED/ A&E as you may have pylonephritis.
Good luck
Flank pain refers to discomfort in your upper abdomen or back and sides. It develops in the area below the ribs and above the pelvis. Usually, the pain is worse on one side of your body. Though flank pain is often a symptom of a kidney problem, it can also be the result of other medical conditions if it occurs along with additional symptoms.
I am in the same boat as you.. I was diagnosed the first week of June with Uti..2 rounds of Cipro and 2 days of Bactrum later, I have no bacteria but I still have lower back pain and pressure... I don't understand what is going on... I'm so frustrated..
