Have fibromyalgia for 5 years now my GP stated is progressive due to my current flare .i am a district nurse and had coped with everything fb has caused but the flare is so bad cant eat ,sleep, drive ,pain in shoulders ,neck , weakness in my left leg , some days i cant move for the last 8weeks. Anyone has any tips to help please .

Have you tried CBD oil/cream?? (THC free/non-psychoactive) My friend swears by it and said it’s changing her world. She uses a cream. Praying you feel better!!

Hi Nathalie, I would suspect that you have had a barrel full of emotional stress of some kind lately right? I think finding ways to manage the stress in your mind and body can help you cope much better. Talking things out with a close friend or just getting out all your feelings and thoughts in a journal can also be extremely helpful. It helps me to get a better perspective on my problems or worries. And If it is weather related pain, then heat and Epsom salts hot baths can also be soothing and comforting. I can’t give you much advice on meds Nathalie, because I choose to handle my Fibro pain in a more Holistic way. Perhaps some others can help you in that department. Sending you some warm gentle hugs! Maggie

Hi sorry to hear your having a rough time with your fibromyalgia, I was in a bad flare a few  weeks ago myself. I was off work for 5 weeks. I went to visit a chiropractor to see if they could help and OMG what a difference he has made to me. I am down to painkillers twice a day my mobility has improved and I feel so much better. I can’t believe the difference in 4 weeks it might be worth having a look into this for you x

HI what pain killers are you on thanks

That is so good to hear. What part of you did the chiropractor work on?

Cheers Richard

Hi magpie , your a so right emotional stress by the barrel !

i am a keen supporter of the holistic approach too .thank you so much i think centring myself is important but so hard right now .But i will carry on .thank you again .

Hi noahsnan will give the chiropractor a tried thank you so much x

Hi law ,thanks for that will be purchase it .At this point anything to help i willing to try .

Hi it’s all to do with your central nervous system and how your spine if out of alignment can have a massive impact on your pain. The difference I feel after a few weeks treatments is amazing 😋

Hi good luck I hope you get the relief I have for the first time in years I actually feel normal let me know how you get on x

Hi I only need to take 2 co-codamol in the morning and night I feel like I’m getting my life back 👍

Many thanks for that. Was that a conventional or a McTimoney trained one?

Thanks Richard

I’ve been going to a massage therapist trained in John Barnes Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR) & it’s made a tremendous difference!! It’s not the rough deep tissue MFR...it’s outstanding! Genevra Lipton in her book, ‘The Fibro Manual,’ talks about it a lot...awesome book too!

Praying you feel better 💕

Hi Nathalie51,

I take CBD oil orally. It's tastes awful so I sort of drop it down the back of my throat and chase it down with something thick to drink like a smoothie. I use to go to acupuncture and have cupping sessions which helped a lot but got expensive after my mother became ill and is no longer able to work to provide for herself. I can't recommend any medications because I absolutely hate them. But unfortunately I take them. I am unable to function at all without them. I take Cymbalta which has the most horrifying withdrawal syndrome so I can't get off it. I take Ibuprofen 800 mg, Tylenol Arthritis strength, Diazepem to relax my muscles and my mind because stress causes it to be worse. Every once in a while the pain becomes unbearable for me. This has only been in the last couple of years but the pain is so horrible that I can't even shower. When it's that bad, I end up in the ER where they put me on some strong narcotic which I hate but gives me a little bit of a break from the pain. Then I go back to my regimen and I can keep it from getting too bad for a while anyway... this is really a depressing way to live.

Are you on any medication at all,

Hello, if this is fybromialgia then it seems to be different on many of us. My mom has what we think is PMR and her pain is debilitating. For me I have fybromialgia and I recently had a bad flare just rested and took tromadol for pain. Tried CBD oil but no help. Good luck. Keep us posted
