can you have a flare up with a normal sed rate?

I had a normal sed when from 8 mg to 7 mg and had a flare up, then my sed rate was high!

Yes. My Sed rate was normal the whole time. The only elevated count I had was C Reactive Protein, and that went down as soon as I got on Prednisone

If you are already on pred it isnt unusual for symptoms to flare long before the blood markers rise and for some people then their blood markers never rise again for some reason - no-one knows why. And of course - about 1 in 5 of us never have raised levels anyway.
