Flashes that only happen this way

been six years since I noticed this Every time I leave a dark area and go out to see the natural light and return to the dark area I see flashes in my Vision , the flashes is faint blue and starts to make a "bubbling" pulsing "boiling effect" then stops and fades away, this isn't noticeable if the lights are on, but if I enter a dim area I can see the flashes or If I close my eyes . This does not obscure my vision, but I wonder if someone experience the same. This only happens this way, for example : you spend time inside house then go to backyard at daylight then return inside, close your eyes you start to see thse blue flashes pulsating the fades away in like 5 seconds. but sometimes I have seem this at night but much less flashes. Is this a normal reaction to light ?

Did you have a retinal laser procedure?

A few months ago I had flashes in one eye
( not exactly as you described - mine were visible inside and out)
I called the eye hospital and they said it was important to get it checked just in case there was any retina damage.

Thankfully there wasn’t and it was a Vitreous Detachment caused by the aging process.
May be a good idea to have it checked out just to put your mind at rest?

I have this but it is a lot better than it was. I have been fully checked. Full eye exam, MRI and all clear.

my neurologist and eye doctor said i had an ongoing visual aura which made my eyes more sensitive to light.

It would make sense to get it checked. book an eye exam, they can scan your eye and check if everything looks ok.

I’ve had retinal laser and i have this symptom.

TiffanyNola same here and its been debilitating.

I started a facebook group just search for “white flashing lights after retinal laser tear surgery” if you want to join. This whole thing has really made me so upset.

Also, i believe this issue was caused by Dr error in that they lasered on the outer peripheral vision, and they should never do that.

Never

One year ago I got checked, thankfully the eye guy did not found anything wrong with both eyes, he performed full exam including retina fundus
I’m considering another visit, as you said is always good to be checked

Never trust an ophthalmologist to do a retinal laser procedure on you. Unless its critical and even then get three or four opinions. A retinal laser ruined my life.

Oh that’s great you got it checked Lucas.
I hope this present problem settles eventually.

You can also try a cheap pair of #5 welding / brazing glasses - it will block out alot of the bright white light so that when you come indoors you shouldnt have that issue. let me know if you need more info.

Your flashes are permanent or transient?

Permanent - the ophthalmologists are experimenting with our eyes and now theres nothing we can do. never ever get a retinal laser procedure - its been a nightmare
