Typical of the profession these days, I guess:
I am medicated for prostatitis. In the middle of a 3-week regimen of sulfameth that is helping. Doc adds Flomax to the mix today, to help absorption, he says. I popped my first Flomax an hour ago...and then went on line to read some. Turns out the alfozosin he already prescribed a year ago and that i am also taking is NOT to be taken with Flomax. Both are alpha blockers.
Too late tonight though. Already took both meds. Right now, before bedtime, am feeling dizzy. Par for the course. I doubt it will kill me and I wrote a note to the doc tonight that he will see in the morning. But geez...I like my doc but have to play doc as backup to make sure ALL the meds I am taking can work together without dire consequences.
And his nurse is all hurry hurry and snippy on the phone. It's a shame medicine has been reduced to this. Probably still the best in the world, but still...
P.S. I STILL like my uro,
