Four years ago i had a limited Turp surgery after they found a benign cyst leaning up against my prostate and blocking a portion of the bladder neck.
After the surgery, i immediately saw significant improvement in flow, in fact I couldnt believe how fast the urine was coming out and felt my bladder empty fully
however, after a few months, the flow wasnt nearly as strong and it has remained the same since.Is it normal to see a drop off in flow a few months after TURP surgery? i wouldnt describe current flow as bad but just not nearly as good as it was right after the surgery.
This has generally been reported as normal as time passes and there is tissue regrowth.
The only thing my urologist pointed out was that normal prostate tissue is a “pink” color. but, right after a TURP, there will be… well, picture a burger on a grill. The electrode (unless you have the blade version) will burn its way through prostate material. I don’t know about your case, if maybe, they were only aiming at the one area where the cyst was. But The doctor showed me, at 7 weeks, that my prostate was far from “pink”. He was trying to knock off scabs/blood and scar tissue but told me there was way too much and I needed to just go with it for awhile. He said that TURP took a long time to heal. So, maybe (I’m not a doctor), that there are clots or scar tissue associated with your TURP but, if there are changes, I’d check with the doctor so he could do some diagnostic work.
