Flu, maybe?

Yesterday, at about 4 PM, I got a pretty bad case of the coughs and sniffles. No big deal, I do have pretty severe seasonal allergies and a day of sneezing isn't really uncommon for me. But, I noticed that I started feeling much worse than I normally do on my bad allergy days, so I started taking note of how I'm feeling.

It is now 4 PM the next day, and I feel extremely under the weather. My skin is flushed pink and hot to the touch, yet I'm covered in goosebumps because I feel so cold. My eyes feel hot and tired, I've still got a bit of a cough, my sinuses are inflamed to the point I can't breathe through my nose, I'm on and off nauseous, my legs and torso are feeling achy, and I feel so tired even the thought of standing up for more than 5 minutes makes me tired. I got up to get a cheese stick from the fridge and by the time I got back I felt winded like I'd gone on a 3 mile walk.

I've never had a flu before so some help here would be great. With my anxiety, I've convinced myself I'm going to die or something.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling ill.

Yes, it's probably either your allergies, or flu.  If you have flu, it's normal to feel achey and also a temperature.  So it does sound a lot like flu.  Maybe you have summer flu?

It can be pretty bad, but usually it improves in a couple of days.  Hopefully you improve soon?

All the best,

Jonathan

I never had the flu either and I had it last year. Felt the same as you did. But it goes away.
