Taking furosemide and asprin - which helps. Most of the pain gone from feet and legs since I have been on furosemide. But I feel terrible - can barely do anything. Waiting months to see doctors on NHS. I feel frightened and confused. Have been told they need more tests to find out exactly what is happening. Meantime I wait. I regularly collapse with chest pains, etc. Have been rushed to hospital twice - the reason the wait for test is only months rather than the original years. I just need information about what this means? I feel my life is on hold.
hya
im on furosemide 40mgs and asprin 75mgs but its not to keep the pain away furosemide is to keep water from getting to your heart plus stops odema in your feet and legs from swelling up it also makes you go to the toilet more often to wee and asprin is to help stop you getting blood clots.
i can't understand you have to wait to see a cardiologist also why you keep passing out if i was you i would get your gp to have you reffered to a cardologist as soon as possible i can't say what is wrong with you as im not a dr but if you are suffering like this have you tryed elevating your legs and feet if they are swelling
you shouldn't have to feel your life is on hold if your dr as any quarms tell him you want to go private he cannot stop you from getting sorted out rather than wait for the nhs also if you go private you will only be going for a consultaion then he will still se you on the nhs
have you had an ECG done at your hospital sounds like they don't no at your hospital what they are playing at.
well i hope you get sorted out and good luck to you keep me posted
Have had numerous ecg's - all abnormal. I am waiting for tests and due to see another cardiologist in a fortnight. You are right - they admit they don't know what is going on. I can't afford private. In any case, the closest private hospital is a couple of hundred miles away. Just so worrying - our local cardiology has a BAD reputation, and I am beginning to understand why.
hi whooley
were i live we have 4 nhs hospitals to choose from if this applys to you then i would take a trip to every one of them through your accident and emergency unit or there is another way you can do it we have what is called a complaints dept i have done this myself ring them and threaten them you will report the hospital
i have even got a solicitor on a no win no fee bacsis it dosent cost you a penny im sure you may have heard of something like this you need to push and kick a stink up about the way your are not getting treated properly.
you say you have abnormal ECG readings all the more reason you should be on tablets
i have heart trouble really bad i have to take 32 tablets a day ive had 3 big operation's so i do realise all your frustrations with you not getting anywere i reported my own dr its a good job i did on the last op i nearly lost my own life through neglect of been like you getting no were.
you must push and let them know your are not going to just sit back and wait there time all the dr's and cardio's there is you do not have to take this crap from them there is lost more test they need to do on you such as am echo cardiogram, angyogram, or an angyoplasty.or you may need just a stent putting in.
thats only to name the most ones that will let them see just what is going on in your artries. do not be frightened to take this further its your life thats in jepordy hear and just can't be left on hold to suit the dr's and cardio's.
if you are that kind of a person that just sits and waits they will do the same and sort you in there own time i sympathise with you for what you are going through this passing out could be the cause of lack of oxegen and blood not getting to the brain to feed the heart muscle's but don't take this as it is but its just a thought this can cause a blocked atery
if you do not get any joy then i would get intouch with this deptment tell them you are at your wits end were im from its called PALS if they don't help you tell them you are taking it futher to a lawyer this puts the wind up them belive me.
like i said ive done it its still ongoing now but its for anothe illness ive got i had an hip replacement done last october but wasen't done correctly then had to have it redone and like you im not satisfied im still getting pain after 8 week of the same pain before i had it done
so this is why ive got a lawyer/solicitor on the case no one should suffer the way we both are if i can i will help you as much as i can the heart is a funny thing to mess around with
i don't want to frighten you but i think you no this please let me know how you get on next week infact why don't you ring appointments a get it brought forward insit as an urgent appointement you need but if you want to talk about it if i can help in any way im here. hope you get some were now its gone on long enough without tablets they no there is something not right its time it was sorted
.also your dr just refer's you no matter who you see and were it is but private is only for consultaion he would run all the teast on you its not all that much as every consultant price as different cost's the most they can charge is £200 it can be any were you wish to see a cardio im like you why should you have to pay
in some cases you don't have to pay up front they have a payment plant this is the last resort but its also puts the wind up your own dr they don't like sendind you as it makes them look like they not doing there job right this should make him realise you mean buisness.
good luck
christine
