Does anyone take Fluoxetine and Levothyroxin? I have been told Fluoxetine reacts with my Thyroid meds .I have always taken Levothyroxin in the morning so have switched to taking my Fluoxetine at night.I haven't noticed any significant difference so is this ok??
Has anybody had to increase/ decrease their thyroid meds as a result I.e.has Fluoxetine caused changes in blood results?
hiya Hez, yip I take Levothyroxin myself, and like you take it in the morning, To be quite honest I was'nt aware that it could interfere with the Fluox? I'm seeing my doc tomorrow so will seek advice. At present I take the Fluox in the morning too, though I'm not sure it makes a lot of difference, I will let you know what advice I get

Thankyou, I will be interested to hear what Doc tells you.Somebody warned me about taking both so I googled interactions between them and it proved the person was correct.Both my Doctor or pharmacist did not advise me on there being a problem.I found it easier to take all medication together so look forward to your reply.

hello Heather, that's me just back from the doctors and with good news regarding the Fluoxetine and Levothyroxine combo, no interaction at all between them, quite safe to take together (which is just as well as I'm on day 50!) it certainly put my mind at rest not sure about the advice you have been given, that contradicts what I was told today, so personally I will just continue as before and hope to see the light at the end of the tunnel real soon. Thankyou for your reply.I am now going to revert back to taking my meds together .
I sm in my fifth week of taking Fluoxetine and I am just starting to feel better.It's been a hard struggle but hopefully things are on the up.
I hope you see light at the end of the tunnel soon aswell.

yes I must admit light at the end of the tunnel can't come soon enough for me! today was better than yesterday for sure but I'm not holding my breath just yet in case I go tumbling back down that slippy slope. you are more or less at the same stage as myself so it is certainly interesting to compare notes so to speak, here's hoping all our tomorrows are so much better than today. take care yeah and chat soon I hope David xxx
