Fluoxetine......Arrghh! New to it and Im sooo drained.......

Hi Guys

Ive been prescribed Fluoxetine 20 mg and today is my 4th day of treatment.I usually take it late mornings. The doctor has prescribed it to me for 2 weeks to see how it goes.

On the 1st day i took it; I didn't feel any different; but on the 2nd and 3rd day I'm feeling sooo tired, all i wanna do is ly in bed and sleep and plus my body is aching....is this meant to be normal?

I am actually thinking of taking it just before bed to see it if makes a difference because I have alot that I could be doing during the day. Anyone tried this?

the whole point of me being on antidepressants was to be able to function and get my life on track but with this fatigue I'm scared i won't be able to get anything done; will the fatigue go away? - I know its still early days and I know it takes a while to get it working so I'm gonna hang in there.

I have taken a B complex today in the hope that I'll have more energy and motivation....

Also, on the 2nd day I took the fluoxetine; i thought it got stuck in my throat; very odd because I thought I took sufficient amount of water with it. From that day on whenever I eat/drink I sometimes still think that there is something in my throat that won't go down - maybe I didn't swallow it properly or maybe the capsule has bruised the inner-lining of my throat.....

Also today I have noticed that on the palms of my hands there is quite alot of skin peeling...

Anyway Im gonna persevere because I think i really do need to be on antidepressants and can't see any other option and see how it goes...

*Sigh*

Hi i would stick with them ive been on them now for five weeks and i was extremely tired but i know take them after my evening meal so i am ready for bed at about 9 10 ish and i sleep better too. Yes i ached all over and neck very tense too this is just one of the side effects but i would defo persevere as i feel hundreds times better, more positive and bags more confidence.  dont give up just see how you go and if you dont feel any different after taking them in an evening seek advice from your GP.  Good luck T

Hi Kim, thanks for your reply

I've tried taking it at bedtime and feel the same the next day; body aches, dizzines, extreme fatigue, lack of motivation etc

Do you think its really worth taking these as opposed to trying other options?
