i have just been put on fluoxetine because I am having terrible leg pain.i have had fibromyalgia for years and never experienced anything like this.they ache and throb and feel like they are on fire.has anyone had any luck with this x
Well I do get cramping pains especially in my ankles, they can also become swollen, fluoxetine is an anti depressant? I wonder what's that about?
Some antidepressants are prescribed for the neuropathic pain of fibro. x
Why fluoxetine thats for depression how is that going to help with pain did the dr give you sn explanation
Hi she said it would help with the leg pain, I have tried lots of different things and nothing has worked.i have only been on it for a week and she said it takes a while to work.i have had fibromyalgia and arthritis since 2005 and only now have started having these pains.i can cope with fibro pain but the arthritis pain is awful
You learn something new every day, lol I was unaware of that one.
I have arthritis too along with fibro and m e i have been put on meloxicam for artritis and fencino patches for the pain neither i might add seem to be doing too much beware as fluoxetine is another name for proxac and can be addictive let me know though if it does help with pain x
I have been on it for just over a week and nothing seems to have happened .would love to know what's caused this major flare up ,I have never been this bad.
You need to give it about three weeks to see if it will work for you, and everything has side effects so you may not be able to deal with those. All these things are try and see what suits you. I took amitriptyline for about a year which def helped with pain but made me so dopey. I stopped it a couple of months ago but pain is worse again now. May have to go back on it. xxx
Hi what medication are you on at the moment because nothing seems to work for me but arthritis pain is now taking over xx
I take Pregabalin, and Fluoxetine every day, and Co-codamol and Tramadol when pain is really bad. I have arthritis too in my knees and spine from top to bottom. I can't take anti-inflammatory meds like Ibuprofen or Naproxen. xx
It's the arthritis pain in my knees I hate, dread getting up off sofa.i don't think I have tried pregabalin will have to check I've tried that many 😀 xx
Same here I grid, my knees can be so painful, I try to get about as often as I can, however it's difficult when the pain is continuos.
