Fluttering in chest when I eat, gerd?

Every time I eat food and swallow it I get a fluttering sensation in my chest and sometimes throat. It almost feels like it's taking my breath away. I only ever get this when I eat food.

I've had this now for 3 weeks, the GP has put me on omeprozole but this isn't helping.

my heart and chest have been checked and all is fine with them.

can anyone help, it's quite alarming when I experience this sensation.

thank you

I have Barretts Oesophagus and this is what I get. You most likely have reflex of the osphecus. Ask your GP to get you tested, this would confirm or eliminate it.

Comfort

There is a new trend to treat symptoms without testing.

It common to be put in a zole medication because it suspected that your complaint matches with AR.

You only want to take a medication if it's needed because all meds have a side effect, or shall I say an effect, other tha. The one it is being using for and sometimes that effect is not favorable.

Ask to have a PH test which is the first step to diagnosing AR.

From there they will make a diagnosis or deep deeper

About 6years ago I had an endoscopy and they discovered a small hiatus hernia.

I was just told to take antacids if it got bad.

I really don't want another endoscopy as it was vile - I kept yanking the tube out despite sedating so they had to perform it under full General anaesthesia - this was okay as I dontvremeber  a thing but it's such a big hassle having one.

do you think a barium swallow would detect Barretts or similar ?
