Fluttering?

Ok so another issue has popped it's head after doing so well for a while. I have had this thing off and on where I get a "fluttering" sensation that moves up into my chest. I've had acid issues for years, I've read that GERD can cause a fluttering from the stomach that moves up into the chest......but I've also read that heart palpitations (flutters) can do the same thing. I've monitored my heart rate, doesn't seem to be "skipping" or doing anything out of the ordinary (except the occasional hard thump when I'm anxious).

This was just happening once in a while but the past few days it's been happening multiple times a day. Did it a few times in a row this morning, did it just now twice in a row.  It's making my anxiety flare bad.

My health anxiety has centered a lot around fear of a heart attack or stroke especially in the past year, so that seems to be everything I notice. I bring this up though and I'm looked at like I have ten heads. Anyone else have this? I wish I could explain the fluttering better...it's like you have butterflies in your upper abdomen and they move up into your chest... makes you panic a minute and feel like your breathing is off.

Hello, with anxiety the brain stomach and heart all play together. You might have a type of reflux that causes a symptom like your heart is fluttering,”. Reflux can cause heart palpitations and anxiety. Some symptoms may imitate  GERD’s. Your Doctor will let you know if you need to see a GI or say it’s mean ol anxiety.
