Both folic acid and vitamin B12 are needed to make red blood cells. If you are low in B12, folic acid can 'bypass' the blockage in blood cell production, making your blood tests look normal. However, folic acid cannot fix the damage to the nervous system caused by low B12, which can lead to permanent nerve damage if the B12 deficiency isn't found and treated.

Firstly want to mention how grateful I am for finding the article on b9 using your b12 if your low on b12, on cell duplication and other tasks rather then healing the nervous system due to demyelination etc… I took b9 and it gave me physical strenngth but I believe I had a severe mental horrible reaction, coudn’t think striaght it felt like my brain had 100% glutamate, 0 GABA, I was jumping fom thought to thought couldn’t finish a thought. I will try loading up on adenosyl/hydroxyb12 and other b-vitamins, magnesium and more and then approach b9 when im doing alot better. b9 seems best to be added when things are alot better. Please correct me in my understanding if its missing something.
