Food Diary

Hi

I'm wondering if we can post our food intake for the day so we can see how others are getting on and take ideas for lowfat lunches and dinners and the like?

Yesterday:

9am: Breakfast

80g muesli with added cranberries, sultanas and pumpkin seeds. 10 slices of banana. 4 fl oz of milk

Tea (brown sugar and 1% fat milk)

1 TABLET

1pm: Lunch

1 1/2 slices of brown bread with vitalite spread.

1 reggae reggae chicken breast

1/2 carrot of carrot

1 medium jacket potato

1 tsp vitalite

1 small pinch of cheese

1 large glass of peach water

1 TABLET

5.45: Dinner

Homemade casserole: pork, passatta, tomatos, courgette, carrots, beans, peas, potatoes, garlic, onions, dumplings.

2 slices of brown bread buttered with vitalite

1 large glass of peach water

1 TABLET

7.45: tea, brown sugar, 1% fat milk

8.45: Supper

3 Ryvita and vitalite.

Large handful of grapes.

Today:

9am: Breakfast

Roast: one small chicken breast, sweetcorn, brocoli, carrot, mash (sweet potato/white potato/courgette/carrot and raddish all together), bread sauce, stuffing, parsnips, 2 yorkshires, 2 roast potatoes, peas

Fruit water/Squash

1 TABLET

2pm: Tea, brown sugar, 1% fat milk

7.15: Dinner

2 brown bread corned beef sandwiches with salad cream dip

1 TABLET

8.30: Supper

Water

Average about 1 - 1.5ltr of water during the day too. Take omega 3, iron and multi-vitamin tablet with supper too

gosh that seems like an awful lot of food ?

Also how are you managing to have corned beef? according to my list it's over 13g's per 100 and you should be sticking to things 5g's or under per 100g's.

You are going on Full fat and not just saturated fat ?

i thought that too when i read it.

today for me:

breakfast - 1 bowl of special k & 1 wheetabix (mixed together, yes i know some will think its gross but its tasty!) with 1% milk

4g fat

lunch - 2 white pittas with flora extra light spread, 1 packet of walkers baked crisps, 1 muller light yogurt, 1 banana, 1 special k bar

6.5g fat

dinner - 1/2 pizza express margharita pizza, salad, special k bar

9g fat

total fat for the day 19.5g based on food alone, also had a splash of milk in 5 cups of tea

Milk is skimmed

4 cups of coffee and 1 cup of tea throughout the day

Breakfast: approx 10.30am

Bowl of Shreddies with Special K, sprinkled with nuts and raisins.

Lunch: approx 1pm

2 slices of bread toasted with 1/2 tin of tuna mixed with a small amount of ketchup.

Activia no fat yoghurt and melon pieces

8 maltesers (from Mothers day) - not something I have had since starting the diet

4.30pm - dried prunes and mango

Tea 6.30pm:

Jacket potato, salad and 2 x WW's sausages with some branston pickle

WW's chocolate dessert

2 glasses of water during the day which I really need to increase.

Oooh, none of it has caused any problems - none of the uh... orange side affects here yet.

My usual day looks like this...

Breakfast

Bowl of either corn flakes or mini shredded wheat

a sprinkling of blueberries

0.1% milk, or semi-skimmed (depends if I'm at work, as semi is all they do)

White Coffee

occasionally a muller light yoghurt

Lunch

1 x packet of Spice Sensation Cous Cous (Ainsely Harriott)

1 x Mullerice

1 x Snack a jacks (either caramel or berry)

1 x can of diet cherry coke

Dinner

Typically either homemade chicken and sweetcorn risotto, homemade pitta pizzas with grilled chicken, Grilled chicken sausages (from the butchers - very low fat) with cous cous and beans, weight watchers cod and wave oven chips, tomato and chicken pasta, beef stew, vegetable soup, chicken and veg. One of them :p

In all honesty, I'm actually not sure I get enough fat each day... I haven't lost weight in a couple of months now - I eat well, everything is really low fat, maybe too low.

Oh forgot to mention, 1 x raspberry actimel each morning.

Yesterday:

Breakfast:

Special K, Shreddies, sprinkle of nuts and cranberries

coffee

Lunch:

english muffin with bbq chicken.

Activia no fat yoghurt

4.30pm

Dried prunes and dried mango

Tea:

Pasta, tuna and sweetcorn.

WW's dessert yoghurt (lemon cheesecake)

fresh melon and fresh mango

Coffee and tea through the day

My typical day when doing low fat diet (and no other type of diet!)

brunch (10ish)

pack of snaka jacks salt and vineger

Crackerbread and banana.

Lunch

Chicken, Rice Red onion and Mushrooms.

Tea

chicken/pork/fish with blue dragon sauce packet (cheap and tasty and most dont have more than 3g of fat!)

rice

Large rosted Mushroom

Plenty of chilli flakes.

or

Chicken

New potatoes

Carrots

Peas

Parsnips

Supper

Roasted Sweet Potato chips, salt and pepper

Small Tea spoon of extra light mayo for dipping

Or

Bowl of cereal with raisans

or

Banana on toast (low fat spread, not much tho!)

Drank plenty of cordials and had a cup of coffee before bed!
