I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Chronic Pancreatitis when I was 16 but that was after I was misdiagnosed with irritable bowel. You're absolutely right the pain is outrageous
I am amazed how little this is researched and I am sure that people who haven't had just look and think it can't be that bad.
but we are the only people who know how it feels but you can't describe it.
I saw a part from last week who said why don't I eat when I am in pain. I ended up by walking out saying go make me fk laugh and put down I go out drinking like your fkin colleague did. then I will report you to cause if I drink it would be a wooden box or hospital lol. doesn't it frustrate you when people ask you t describe everyday pain and how regular you have attackss and you reply its random at anytime with no pattern. what is so hard to understand.
It is very frustrating because at times I don't look sick but the pain is unbearable. I find myself avoiding certain people because I know I am sick, I don't need you prying at me like you are a doctor. I especially like it when they talk to me as if they were a doctor....Not 😜
HastagPancreatitisProblems....lol
I always tell I would quite happily take a knife and cut the bloody thing out. and they look at you like you are a nutter. I always ask them what qualifications they have and knowledge they have of the disease.
then wipe the smug fxxckers faces when I tell them how the pancreas enzymes have damaged my lung. then you get the look and I reply you need to speak to my consultant then you may actually understand the disease. lol
In July when accute pancreatitis hit, In the hospital, I screamed the first 2 day from pain. I got 1 unit of Dillaud IV every 4 hrs.! Might as well have been an aspirin. I was begging them to kill me or put me out. I couldn't stand it. They cangen my dillaudid to every 2 hrs. but no difference. I was eventually senthome. About 3 weeks I went back in. Made sure I got a different hospital Dr. He conferred with my pain Dr. (back injury) and they put me on 3 units of dilaudid every 2 hours., with my Hydrocodone every 4. This pain wasn't as bad, so the drugs took the edge off. My prblem is I have a very, very high tolerance to the pain drugs. They can't give me a larger dose without stopping my respiration. I hate this disease!.
I have been through a lot of hospital and doctor trips. After severt months in the hospital in Indy, they recommended a pain pump so in 2010 i had a pain pump implanted in my stomach and it does help with the overall pain, but I still have episodes that I have to be hospitalized for. I have the best pain management doctor who has seriously saved my life. The pain pump has dilaudid and it works better than all of the oral medicine I was on before the implant.
Alcohol is the number 1 cause. Next is gall stones. None of my tests showed gall stones. The doctors were stumped by the cause. Every test was negative for stones. My gall bladder was normal looking. But, based on my CT, X-rays and bloodwork, a diagnosis was made. When I went in for an after hospital checkup, my general practitioner immediately said that I had passed a gall stone. He based that on my metabilic paneIs. There was a spike in my 1st liver enzymes the day of the onset of the pain. LOL, pain isn't a strong enough word for what I felt. Apparently, stone(s) caused the AP but didn't show up anywere because it had already passed. The doctor I saw at the Pancreatic Center at the University of California, San Francisco told me you can have gall stones that do not show in any tests. Stones can be almost microscopic sized gravel. I lived in constant, sometimes debilitating, pain from 7/2 until the first week of October. I had 2 hospital stays from the pain. I woke up one day and the pain had completely stopped! I do not know why, but you don't look a gift horse in the mouth. It scared me! Why? Do I have cancer now? (no). Since then I have had maybe a total of a week in pain.

I have chronic panretits and gastritis I'm 31 years old when I first caught thus disease I was on the verge of dying, I weighed 175 and dropped down to 140 within 3 days, I have eight kids ten in the family, I have a strong belief in the lord, I spent almost a whole year in our apartment in severe pain i would have a hard time breathing and on a couple occasions I felt as if I was having a heart attack, the pain that I have now is not as severe as it since I was first diagnosed with the disease, I eat regular foods some do make my stomach hurt more than others but the only thing that cured me from the extreme pain was the messiah himself, my pastor came to my apartment and we had a one on one prayer and he explained to me what was going to happens and what I was going to feel in my abdominal area and I kidd u not ever since than the pain has decreased. I ask that my messiah heal your significant other from this horrible disease and cure this illness look unto the father.Be blessed. Michael arcangel.
