Forgetting things before and after surgery

Hi. Four months ago I fell and broke the neck of my femur. Went to hospital and spent 48 hrs on morphine and nil by mouth waiting on surgery. I was in some kind of delirium, everytime some one bumped the bed a tidal wave of pain ran through my body. Anyway, after op I felt ok but I kept having strange dreams. I was lying on an air mattress and everytime it filled with air I felt my body was getting sucked in to middle earth.HaHa. But that wasnt one of my dreams, that sensation happened at least twice a day. Tonight I was watching an episode of " Grey’s Anatomy" and they had turned a patients bed upside down, and it triggered a memory. I vaguely remember on admmitance to hospital they pulled down the head of the bed and I felt like I was upside down, now I know that must of been real. Does anyone else have any strange recollections???

Nothing like you have said, and cannot have been easy for you either. However, once spinal block had been given and effective, I was wheeled into threatre awake, and carried over onto their operating table. And honestly, I seriously wondered where my legs had gone. It was such a weird feeling. However during actual op I was given sedation, as I didn’t want to hear or see anything. Even being brought back to the ward and waiting for the feelings to come back was weird.
(But do not know if bed was turned upside down)!!!

I had a THR and was awake for the op with no sedation. I was on my side it seemed, I think they have special tables to move people about in some cases. I am not sure they turn you upside down though, but you never know.

It was before I was operated on maybe a day before. I was given an injection in my groin area before the operation after that I cant remember anything until I was in recovery ward. I was very cold and the nurse gave me a blanket out of their driers. As I was the only patient their I do remember having a lovely conversation with him.

My hospital did not have recovery wards, in fact to get to the operating theatre I was wheeled outside to get there. It was rather nice as the sun was shining. During the op I had a special thermal cover to keep me warm. It had teddy bears in it!
