Forgot how long to fast before Internal Hemorrhoid Banding operation

Hi

I need to do a hemorrhoid Internal Hemorrhoid Banding operation. when the doctor gave me the appointment he told me to fast before the operation. The problem is that I forgot how long to fast before I go in. Can anyone tell me please?

I would think around 8 or 12 hours, good luck. You might want to do an enema before too. When ever I have surgery in that area, I always eat very soft foods for a few days before than do a few enemas just so my first bm will be loose, and start stool softners and mirlax. Good luck, would love to hear how things go.

Hi I had the banding procedure done on two seperate times as I had two large thrombosed hemorrhoids and did not have to fast but was required to use an at home enema the morning of the procedure. Good luck with your procedure mine was the best decision I have made and it worked wonders for me.

Sorry for a late reply. Can I drink some water while fasting because 12hrs without having nothing is hard.
