the human brain is capable of making many shortcuts whereas a computer has to go through every calculation.

The most ferocious discussion I remember from my college days was when the lecturer suggested that intuition and inspiration was the highest form of reasoning.

that floaty feeling, where disparate thoughts coalesce and a sense of direction emerges .....

but much more fundamental. I hate waste. And telling a thing something it already knows is anathema ....... more easily understood example is filling in government forms with information the government already has.

I don't see developing mouse clicking and scrolling skills as particularly useful when most of it is redundant and detracts from the task at hand.

I have the misfortune to be a member of forums in which "last unread post" within a topic is a single click away. The subsequent posts in the conversation are all laid out.

I've also had the misfortune to experience sub 0.2 second computer response time ...... two months work in two hours. These days it would be called "being in the zone". Which is not dissimilar to that floaty feeling.
