Hi I am a 78 year old male, who has suffered from benign enlarged prostate for some fifteen years. I am on tamulosin and dutasteride. Both had great effect but that has diminished over time, to the point that I was hugely troubled with urine retention, abdominal pain and disrupted sleep. I was scheduled for laser surgery in late January of this year(2020), but that was cancelled owing to the Covid 19 crisis. Desperate, i found the German study of the efficacy of green pumpkin seed. Enough to convince me. I started right away (while continuing my prescriptions). Two tablespoons a day, once in the morning and then late afternoon. The result is dramatic. Hugely increased flow and few troubles starting urination. I get up once a night generally and sleep right through, typically, once a week. I chew them green, chased by water (kind of awful, crunchy and dry; but knowing the benefit, I would chew them with crushed glass added. My only continuing effort will be to try to better regulate my stool size, (restoralax is a big help) since my only remaining issue seems related to that bulky problem (for another post.) Green pumpkin seed (must not be roasted) or 'pepitas' as called in Mexico are, for me, a huge help. Lord knows when I will get surgery so glad to have this additional benefit.
Thanks for sharing. I will try it soon. Have you tried grinding it and add to foods ? Hank
I’ve noticed some relief from eating roasted pumpkin seeds. As a matter of fact, I eat spicey roasted pumpkin seeds and they still give some relief. That said, I don’t have a lot of trouble peeong to begin with. Dribble at the end is the most annoying part
