Hi,
I know no one can diagnose me, just wanted some advice. I’m not sure if I’ve fractured a bone in my hand (metacarpal) or if it’s just soft tissue damage. I did it this morning, it’s bruised, swollen, painful and I can do limited activities with my hand: definitely no unscrewing lids or putting weight on it, but I can pick up really light things with pain. Don’t know whether to see how it goes or go for an x-ray. Pics included of damaged hand and normal for comparison.

that’s a fracture till proven otherwise. It’s foolish not to get a confirming x-ray & appropriate treatment as that can lead to irreversible problems.

Definitely get an xray. You need to find out exactly what is happening.
I really hope you got that checked out, because it looks bad.
