Freaking out!!

I have a cold score at the moment and I stupidity made out with a girl who doesn't get them.. and to top it off after we kissed she gave me oral sex. My question is, can I now get genital herpes from kissing her and then her performing oral on me?? Please help!!

I think if she got infected from the cold sore, you can be infected. Go to the doctor right away and be tested. Be aware of tingling or burning down there and treat it right away, because it is excruciating (for a female, anyway). Hopefully all will be well, just don't be active when your cold sores are present to be safe.

You already have it orally, so shouldn't get it genitally as well. Possible, but unlikely, and not likely through what you both did. I would be more concerned about the poor girl you kissed. Hope she doesn't get oral HSV-1!

HSV-1 causes "cold sores" on the mouth, and up to 80% of the population has this virus. However, HSV-1 may also be transmitted to the genitals through oral/genital sex and about 40% of genital herpes is caused by HSV-1. Up to 22% of sexually active adults have genital herpes caused by HSV-2.

Ofcource that's my biggest worry. Hence why I said "to top it off"

Anyway, once you have one HSV type in one location, you are generally protected from getting the same type elsewhere on the body, except if during a primary outbreak before enough antibodies have been established (first 3-4 months up to 6) and presumably in immunocompromised individuals. I'm assuming your cold sore problem is an old infection, so you should be fine, though it's always a good idea, even in your case, to avoid oral sex when someone has a visible cold sore. HSV-1 affords only limited "protection" against HSV-2, so you can still catch that.
