Buffalo hit with over 6 feet of snow the other day and more falling on them...just heard thunder and lightening going on....
Buffalo has hard weather but this is the worst since over 40 yrs ago for them....
Kinda sounds like the freaky Sandy storm that hit NYC area a few yrs ago....
Here in So. Calif. we had a heat wave from May to early Nov....really first in the 49 yrs I've been in my city.....and we are headed into 4 yrs of drought...... Something is going on....temporary or is this a new long trend.... Joy US
UK forecast is for 24C drop intemperature over the next seven days and four months of snow and ice.
Last time we were in Florida in January 2008 they had frost. Fish were dieing in the sea and iguanas were falling out of the trees.
I sincerely don't believe that a drop of 24 degrees and months of snow.

I know we get weather bad here ,but I've not heard of what Derek said ,when did I miss that . Live on South Coast.,so sea air ( salt ) don't get snow lasting long ,soon turns to slush .North of Scotland and the Shetlands and the Outer Hebrides ,get worst in UK when comes to getting snowed in for weeks .
Yes, and strange weather in UK too. Perhaps you might be kind enough to ask in 50 years time and I shall give you my considdered opinion. But yes, it is strange. There have been big weather shifts in the past so why not now? Of course, it could be freaky. Now if we go down that route we might discover a wide variety of interesting ideas.
I'm in Sussex but this was forecast nationwide on BBC website this evening.
Very odd, Derek, it hasn't been on my BBC website or television channel. And they can't quite decide whether or not we are going to get frost this weekend. Latest, according to Helen Willetts, is that the north of the UK might get frost.
Still relatviely mild here though.
Google " USA sneezes and Britain gets a cold: UK to freeze NEXT WEEK as temperatures drop to -7C" and it will come up in yesterdays Daily Express
Oh, that Daily Express, that told us last year that we would have 30ft snow drifts and a couple of weeks ago, that we are going to have the wettest winter on record!
I only know this because the presenter on Radio 3 thought it might interest his listeners!
It is interesting to note that the Daily Express is apparently able to forecast long range, whereas the Met Office isn't.
Every month they have a new cure for hypertension and heart disease... can we dare be without it?.
Ha ha!! I haven't actually read the Daily Express for donkey's years, probably not since it was a broadsheet!
It couldn't be that dramatic even fanciful headlines sell newspapers? No, surely not. That is just me being cynical, ism't it.

An Arctic blast is due to batter Britain over the next few days with temperatures expected to plunge to -7C by next week.
Forecasters have also warned that strong winds and heavy rain could bring a weekend of wet weather misery to most parts of the country, triggered by the massive snowstorms in the US.
The cold and wet weather has been sparked by a 'meandering' jet stream with winds of 200mph, which will allow freezing air from the Arctic to sweep across the UK.
I'm hearing 10 have died due to this freak storm and now all are worried about flooding as rain is coming....good grief..... mother nature is not happy lady.
I watch Discovery and National Georgraphic programs and those living off the grid in alaska talk about last year's winter being the warmest they can remember which changes the way they prepare for their living.
