I'm 52...have been on doxasosin and doxycycline for a while now but still have the urge to urinate all the time and get constant dull aches in my left testicle and left leg...my psa test and urine tests were all clear...wating to see a urologist...but could do with some advice
Have you been diagnosed with "varicocele"?
Hi Dave. Have the frequent urination issue, and sometimes pain in testicles or down leg, but that is less frequent.
In my case, it is due to me not emptying my bladder completely. According to my new urologist, I do not have prostatitis as the former urologist stated - he believes it is pelvic muscle tension stopping the flow and suggested I read Headache in your Pelvis - available on Amazon.
Keep me posted as to what your urologist says and maybe I'll have more feedback to share.
I would NOT go on any drug regimen until you see a 3 urologists - it can cause permanent effects - and for me - I couldn't sleep. But besides that, the drugs are not for those with pelvic muscle tension - maybe for enlarged prostates it might work better. So a correct diagnosis is most important.
When are you going to the doctor. It sounds like a infection. I had 5 bladder infections last year. Also had sipsis. The pain in the groin was bad and sometimes it felt like someone was trying to pull out my left testical. I also have a stricture that was stopping me from emptying the bladder. Akk is good now Had a urolift done in april. Just go see your doctor but don't let him cut away at your prostate Ken
Hi...had an ultrasound....had a small cyst on my right testicle....have some enlarged veins on my left but they said everything was ok

Hi Kenneth....I'm waiting to see a Urolgist...since June 8th....thxs for sharing your info.....What Medication did they give you ? Thxs Dave
If Dave is in the UK he will have no option but to see one urologist. The NHS does not give us multiple choice although it can be said that you seldom see the same one twice as most are assistant registrars or less and just pssing through the system. Some are not even urologists and just doing urology as part of their training.
Nowadays initial appointments are often with a urology nurse who does the basic tests and will pass you up the chain for a future appointment.
Hey Dave thanks for the reply. Don't remember all of them but Clalis 20mg flomax and alfuzosin 10MG were a few. Never helped much and the side effect I did not care for. The dry orgasm were the worst. After the urolift all is well and no side effects. What ever they tell you don't let them cut away at your prostate. That is when more problems start Ken
You had enlarged veins in your left testicle? That sounds like varicocele to me. (But I'm not a doctor.)
Definitely check out the antibiotics angle first.
Thxs Kenneth.....at the moment my GP seem to rely on me to suggest a treatment or medication....
Thxs...Will let you know how I get on
