Friend under stress

Hi, my friend had sex with his girl friend (married) last week who was diagnosed with CIN1 and she was treated (conescopy) in early June. The abnormal cells were removed. She was initially diagnosed with HGSIL but later the tests indicated CIN1. My friend is worried that he may have contracted with any sexual disease. No symptoms to-date. The girl friend's husband has a case of fungal infection. My friend is married and he is concern that he may pass the virus to his spouse. Please advise.

Well, there's a chance she got it from him and if not, 80% of women will be infected w some strain if HPV at some point in their life. If she has it and they had sex and the wife had not been exposed to this strain yet, yes she can be infected w it.

You need to sit down and have a serious conversation w your friend. Do you know how selfish that is to expose your partners health just for sex? It could be a lot worse than just that! There's no telling if she got it or when she will show signs.. Only when she has a yearly oaoa and signs if abnormal cells on her cervix, will indicate if she was infected. Other than that, only the low risk strains of HPV give any visible signs if infection, which are known as genital warts.

Thanks so much. I will surely talk to my friend. Is there any test he can go through to confirm any infection.

There is no test for men w high risk strains of HPV, unless he develops throat cancer and tongue cancer from it and is biopsied for it. Other than that, men are considered to be silent carriers. If he gets low risk strain, he would develop warts and that's diagnosed on visual inspection.
