I've been on Citalopram 10mg for 3mths now and the doctor suggested I try 20mg as it's the recommended dosage.so after much deliberation I've decided to give it ago.
Will I get the same side effects all over again? Will my anxiety go threw the roof again even tho its already in my system?
Cheryl, I just did this very thing I fact it's been 4 weeks today since I upped from 10 mg to 20 mg, not sure how your body will handle it, everyone is different! I was good wright up until this week and then started up with some anxiety and feeling jittery again it is however that time of the month and I'm not sure if that is interfering or not always a rough time for me on or off citalopram. I am off to the docs this morning to discuss this wish me luck and oh yes terrible headaches started 2 days ago ... It's a wait and see for me
Not everyone gets side effects when changing dose and even for those who do, theyre often very mild, just maybe a little jitters and a headache or two. Any anxiety felt is usually just us over thinking the change in dose and not really due to the meds themselves. As Candace has said, sometimes its other factors that cause the problem, ie menstrual cycle, dealing with unexpected family problems like a sick child etc., not just the meds. I feel sure you'll be fine very soon.
I was recommend to up the dosage awhile back but I was to scared in getting side effects as they just about gone now
I'm sleeping at night which is a big plus for me as insomnia was killing me an my head isn't as sore as I was getting shooting twitches which was very scary an I'm just a fair they'll come back
I did notice tho when I had my period last week my anxiety was sky high
