From Morning to Night

Has anyone switched their meds from morning to night after being on them a while? I stay so tired all day even after getting a good nights sleep. Ive been on the meds for four months and wasnt sure if my body would go nuts switching abruptly. Thing are bad enough as they are. I dont want to do anything to make it worse.

i tried to take it at night but it gave me insomnia

was that just after starting it? i got insomnia, even taking it during the day, for the first three weeks but then that went away.

i did.

they used to make me give me bad nausea during the day.

so I switched to night time and its a lot better.

yes laura that was at the start, im a year on a lower dose and sleep is rubbish still

had you taken them for very long in the mornings? what dose? notice any weird morning issues from taking them at night?

it had been like 6 months or more …

30 mg of cymbalta … nausea went away … once i started taking them at night. i really didnt have any symptoms that i can remember. you should be ok since youre body is used to taking them.

hi, ye i switched and found it better for me, i took cit 2 hours late each day, example: 9am Mon, 11am tues and so on, i now take mine 11pm every night. good luck

thanks!

thanks! good idea. were you on the cit for a while before you switched? what dose? im on 30mg

also, did you notice anything change about mornings by switching to night? my worst time of the day is mornings for my anxiety.

what made you decide to reduce? i cant remember. what dose are you on now?

no problem!

i was on 30 for about a month then i decided to switch to taking it at night, i was very scared at the time but done it , ni side effects nothing, now i sleep all night and great all day, iv been on cit for over three years 10 for 8 weeks, 20 8 weeks, 30 for around 6 months but found 30 was too high, i had very strange eyes sensations and tired alot so i went straight down to 20 and felt much better straight away, i took 20 instead of 30 one night and woke up to life again, this is how i found my level. good luck

Ohhhhhh thats exactly how I feel. I want to go down, too. Maybe Ill get lucky like you!!! Thanks!

that is what you may need laura.a drop from high doses seem to give normality to life.it did for me.

I agree! As Chris and Lois said a drop was great for me too. I felt better almost immediately and within a week I was doing things I hadn’t done in years. Here it is almost 2 months later and still feeling pretty good considering how I felt for so long.
I’d say if you’re still feeling so anxious possibly try to reduce, I think you said your doc wanted you to stay where you are but sometimes we have to decide what is right for us seems though we are the ones taking it.
I also have always taken mine at night, and I really think its better.
You got his Laura! Fingers crossed you will get this right soon and start to feeling better

I moved my dose from 8:30am to 2:30pm today. Then, tomorrow, I’ll move it to 8:30pm. AND I am going to try 25mg instead of 30mg. Heres hoping I dont royally screw something up!!

hi laura
i had a great lady doctor who i had very briefly unfortunatly & she advised me if i want to drop from 20 to 20 to do 1 day 20 mg
2 day 15 mg
3 day 20 mg
4 day 15 & so on then level on 15 mg, that way your only dropping 2.5 mg at a time if thst makes sense & she said its a tried & tested theory she sticks with.
im a complete beginner & am only 16 weeks into 20 mg myself, i dont fully understand the workings of the medication & i know it affects everybody differently & at different stages, just wanted to share, hope it helps…take care

Thanks Rob! I might try that so its a slower process.

After going back through my journal, I realized I had several days (close to a week) where I didnt even have any symptoms on 20mg and that was only 4 weeks on the meds. I havent had a single day on 30mg where I was anywhere close to having no symptoms. I went up too quicky to 30, I believe, after a blip at 6 weeks. I hadnt found this page at that point so I upped the dose. Now after 10 weeks on the 30mg, Im just sick of no improvement. Its worth a shot to try 25mg and see if anything improves. If if doesnt, then I could try 20mg again. Worst case is I see no improvement but that no worse off than I am now. Hopefully doing it slowly will help me not have a withdrawal.
