Hi,
I am doing low Fodmaps but I have to take 2 shaker cups of psyllium fiber a day (to achieve complete bowel evacuation and avoid other horrible issues). This has required mixing the psyllium with fruit juice. Sooo... I'm wondering what fruit juices I can use on this diet. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Unsweetened Pineapple juice is low in FODMAPs, but you may need to dilute it with water if drinking quantities more than 125ml.

Hi Skat,
I'm not sure if you are aware, but about 25% of IBS sufffers have symptoms caused by resistant startch which may be why you're having to take this extra fibre. From what I've read resistant starch is created when startchy foods are left to cool, and made even worse when you re-heat them - this was a big problem for me as I didn't like to waste food and would use up leftovers, or cook in larger batches to create meals for later in the week to save time.
The other point to note is the difference between soluable and insoluable fibre, (explained on the NHS website), you may just need to reduce your intake of insoluable fibre and increase your intake of soluable fibre.
I don't know if that is of any help to you, no two IBS sufferers are the same, so as with all advice , use what works for you and ditch the rest. Good Luck!
Personally I was told to avoid all fruit juice because of the high levels of fructose. If you are in the elimination stage then you shouldn't be having fruit juice anyway. Otherwise once in the trial stage you'll just have to give them a go. You vould also trying it with fruit squash (fodmap friendly )
