Frustrated

began having pain under my right rib before Christmas. Was not bad, but it was there, and I knew it was not normal.  it was still continuing after Christmas and made appointment with my primary. She immediately thought gallbladder and sent me for a sonogram.

Sonogram showed nothing. She sent me for a hydra scan. As soon as I drank the prep stuff I was in immense pain. The doctor giving it came in and said showed me my gallbladder on the screen and said it Wes the same as before I drank the prep. That it was not contracting and she thought it may need to come out.

she later called me and said it was functioning at 41% and that is was considered normal. My primary still thought gallbladder and sent me to talk to a surgeon.

My husband and daughter both had gallbladder problems and have had theirs out. My husband had an attack that we thought was a heart attack. My daughter had some sludge in hers and got sick.

i have only been nauseous at times. But the pain is increasing after I eat. Sometimes in the middle too. And lately my shoulder blade has been hurting. I had an upper endoscopy and it showed nothing. I go back to surgeon June 4 to talk about biopsy results. He said it sounds like it could be my gallbladder.

I just feel frustrated because I am still having the pain under rib, in the middle of stomach  and the shoulder blade. I don't have some of the really bad symptoms some people get like vomiting, weight loss, and diarrhea. Though I have had some pain that kept me up a few nights. The pain may last a few days then I will have a few days with none. Than its back. I have been keeping a food diary and will show him when I go back, but sometimes what caused it to hurt before won't cause it to hurt again. Its weird.

Just wondering if anyone else has had anything similar. I feel like I am going crazy.

Thanks

Yup same. Does your bottom rib feel like it's grating on something? My liver or whatever is there seems to get hard when the pain is there. I also get a pain below my right shoulder blade. Seeing doc next week. I have high bilirubin. Exercise makes it worse. Even just walking now. Went to physio first thinking damaged cartilage or something but really not sure now. I don't get sick or heartburn. For me it's just the horrible feeling and back pain.
