Hi everyone. Hope you're all well and not in too much pain (you more than likely are though). Fantastic news about Kerri x.
Can I ask if any of you have become a bit of a hermit?? I only go out to take my son to school, but it's a feat!!!! I feel exhausted and irritable all the time. Sometimes I feel so sick from pain, that in itself
Makes me not want to go out in case I feel sick and actually unwell. Like the last couple of days have been awful, hence not been on here much. Makes my ache more typing!! Do any of you feel unwell sometimes with it all??
I feel terrible moaning like this as listening about the plane crash, seems wrong.
Thank you x
Mel....is your pain only in your shoulder and arm....or do you have pain all over your body?
Arm and shoulder. Have had couple of other issues but they said they will scan everything and I have done other samples and need bloods done. X
Hi Melanie 55366,
Yes, I have felt generally unwell, and indeed nauseous for much of my FS journey. No answers as to why. It feels like a general systemic unwellness and the relentless pain along with this unwellness is exhausting! I get grumpy too, and have had to work hard to stay positive. L shoulder started freezing 13 months ago, and is slowly slowly regaining ROM and strength and coordination which is wonderful, but it still gets sore and wears me out.... Huge journey... Now right shoulder is following similar path. I am on this site for reassurance and also more searching for answers... Have read and tried everything that feels like it might help. AC has a mind and a life of it's own. It is too extreme to be just a nerve thing or just a reaction to an injury. I hope that we can gain more insight one day into the causes and effective preventions and treatments. Keep searching for your own answers and know that you are not alone.
Hi Mel,
I felt just like you do. I would hobble out of bed, struggle to get my ten year old to school, still in my pyjamas, in a hideous poncho and a bobble hat to hide the unwashed fuzz on my head! The effort to achieve even this was Herculean. I would then hobble around the house, drugged up on nurofen and galaxy chocolate till it was time to collect her again, throw a ready meal in the micro (all I could manage) go to bed and start all over again.
I think this horrible thing makes you feel and look unwell. After the op my friends told me that I was looking more like my old self as before they could see the 'illness' in my face.
As far as the moaning goes, you have to moan, its the only pleasure we have, you just have to!
Things do get better, rest assured, you will get beyond it and all this will be a distant memory. I am 5 weeks post op and though physio is 'hell' am feeling much better.
Hope you feel better soon xxxx
I'm glad they are going to check it all out....you poor thing, and the fact your medical system is a little slow certainly dosnt help the situation. I wondered if you had had glandular fever?
are you doing what we have advised Jim to do....taking your pain meds on a regular basis and not just when you can't handle the pain any more. Just trying to help hunny 😘❌❌❌❌
I think my general body inflammation was a big factor in why my shoulders froze. My surgeon believes that diabetic genes without having diabetes itself even is a clue. I happened to have heavy metal poisoning as in Mercury and lead. My thyroid had been attacked as well so I felt sick too. Feel your pain and frustration. Try anything that will improve your inflammation status thru diet change etc. Good luck
Hi Cheryl. Thank you so much. I feel so much reassured. I live in pyjama bottoms as its too hard to wear anything else!!! Feel like a slob!!! I'm getting pains in my other shoulder now. It's driving me insane. Starting to get headaches as well. I'm so pleased you are getting well, albeit slowly.
Did you feel more tired than normal too?? I want to sleep all day and don't go to bed till late, as it's uncomfortable.
They won't do anything until I've had my scan.
Thank you again Cheryl. Xxx
Hi Hilary. Exactly why I came on here and was so pleased to find it!!
I feel so much better with you telling me that you felt that bad too. Omg I don't mean to wish you ill health, that sounded awful!!!
Just that feeling so bad because of my shoulder?? I start thinking there's something else wrong!! I sound crazy!!
I've said to Cheryl that I'm getting pain in the other one now. Does it sometimes feel like someone/ something is pushing down on your shoulder, but like really hard, painfully hard. Insane pressure feeling?
Stop whinging now!! Sorry x
Hi Mel,
yes is the answer, I feel very sick sporadically, but never been sick had the water in the mouth and feeling.
I have a sore neck and my opposite shoulder is now doing the same, can't seem to get a deffinate prognosis or X-ray mri ect, been like this for six months and it's getting worse not better x now been sent to second lot of physio people, had a few moments where I have thought this is it I have had enough and almost gone to Aand E but thought what's the point xxx hugs as I know how you feel
Thank you for your reassurance!! My neck is painful. That's were it all started last September. My other shoulder is having twinges that are getting stronger. It's all madness!!
The sick feeling is horrible. I just have to lay on the sofa or something. It does feel like your banging your head against a brick wall were medical profession is concerned though. Xx
Hi Kerri. Yes I do take pain meds regularly, actually sometimes I clock watch till I can take my next dose!! That's bad, right?!!!!
I know you are trying to help, I love and appreciate that. Thank you xxx
irritable ? yes i do get irritable for the most stupid reasons , just trivial things make me lose my temper , especially when im on my own , its like im acting out of character because i have always been a patiant person .
Hi Linda. Thank you for being so honest with me I can completely understand. It drives you crazy, and you can't do much, which in turn leads to not wanting to do anything!!!
Yes I cry a lot!!!
I asked someone yesterday if it feels like someone or something is putting pressure or pushing painfully down on their shoulders. Does that happen to you? Does it affect your hand(s)?
Thank you again Linda. Xxx
Hey Jim. Hope you're as well as can be expected. Do you know I think my neighbours would think I have Tourette's, as when I'm alone during the day I let rip!!!! So irritable and such choice language!
Going mad!!
Morning Mel. What are we all like eh? lol - but it just shows how v bad this condition is.........
Yes I get pins and needles in my hands and some fingers - my shoulder feels like I'm carrying a hundred weight on it!! I only said to my husband yesterday that it feels like I've been carrying a hundred paving stones (not that I ever had!) that's what the sensation felt like to me! Actually yesterday quite by accident my husband bashed the top of my shoulder - I couldn't get my breath and literally saw stars! He was devastated that he had caused me so much pain! Took me a few hours to recover!!
Sooooo its Kerri 's surgery today - she should be home now!
Its brilliant how much support this site has/is giving............
Hope you have a pleasent day today huni, do hope you manage to cope with the pain! Am always thinking of everyone! Big hugs xxxxx
Mel that is sooooo funny!!!!! xx
Can totally understand where you are coming from JIm! x
bloody hell , you could be my twin lol my bad language over the last few months has been terrible, considering as a rule i would only use "moderate man words" its the anger that seems to build up in me that worries me the most. :-(
