Functional Dyspepsia diagnonsis? any advice?

Hi. I’m 21 years old and nearly a year ago I woke up one morning feeling extremely nauseous and started dry heaving. This never went away and after a month of spending all night sitting up with intense gnawing stomach pains accompanied by gagging, beginning to lose weight and missing daily activities, I finally went to the doctor and was given a PPI prescription after my blood test came back as h. pylori negative. The pills helped reduce the symptoms but they never fully went away. I went to a specialist and have now had a gallbladder ultrasound, an endoscopy, and an mri of my gallbladder, bile ducts and pancreas. The endoscopy showed minor irritation of my stomach. My doctor now seems to believe I have functional dyspepsia and prescribed me 10mg of amitriptyline, an antidepressant that can help with symptoms. I wasn’t excited about trying it but after a year I was willing to try just about anything to feel better. I only managed to take 3 pills before I started getting some very strange awful side effects from the medication and my doctor advised me to stop taking it. I just am starting to lose hope of ever finding a solution and thinking of spending the rest of my life feeling sick seems so bleak. I’m hoping for any kind of advice that could possibly help. I became sick literally overnight and I can’t accept that it will just be this way forever. Has anyone gotten rid of this condition?

Hello yes I had dyspepsia and the only thing that helped was I took an Oct called FD Gard it is in a purple box try that I guarantee you will feel better be sure to fallow the directions on the box. I took that and there are no side effects and it's easy on the stomach. Best of luck.

I have chronic GERD and I found  omeprazole helped me in the past. Now I only take over the counter antacids and milk.  Milk is very good for nausea and settling the stomach.  I avoid highly fatty and spicy foods and  try not to eat late at night.  My oesophageal sphincter is weak and lets the acid spew out because it opens when it shouldn’t.  The heartburn can be annoying because it can give me a dry cough but Ihave learned to live with it and accept it.

I was offered the same antidepressant as you for neuralgia which was caused by a nurse who was incapable of doing blood tests.  When I read about the side effects I was too friightened to touch them.  My doctor played down my concerns and I was not impressed.  So I refused the antidepressant and decided to live with the neuralgia flare ups.
