Fungal infection

Any one had a hip replacement and have a fungal toe nail

Hi Carol

I noticed your question isn't getting any answers yet, which is unusual. It might help if you explain why you are asking. The combination may not be something people here have experienced, but they may have had experience of something else that is similar.

Best wishes, Beth

Hi Carol

I have 2 fungal toe nails on my left foot and I had a right hip replacement in April and had no problems at all.

You never know what occurs in the after such a huge trauma to the body . Iv suffered toothache on and off since my operation which Iv never had before. Hope you get it sorted xxx

Hi I have had a hip replacement and I have had fungal nail infection in my big toes for the last 30 years. I am now 70 years old and haven't really thought about it. I have my nails painted regularly to cover it up.

All the best Brenda C

hi carol,

warm welcome to this hippies forum where we share pesona; experiences and stories ...

we would love to learn more about you ...

when was your THR surgery?

I had UTI 5 days post-op 1st THR surgery, and was put on antibiotics ...

when in doubt, contact your surgeon as soon as possible to rule out any complications ...

please come back if you feel like it, okay

Hi guys sorry I've confused you all. I'm due for surgery on my left hip in 2 days and someone said there hip replacement was cancelled due to a fungal nail infection. I phoned the hospital who have said it's up to the individual surgeon but there's a high chance it will be cancelled.

Hi Carol

Sorry you have this worry with the fungal nail infection just 2 days before your operation. I didn't even think about my fungal nail infection when I had my hip operation, I had to cancel my first operation because of a tooth infection. At the age of 79 my hip is brilliant the only problem I now have is arthritis in my back which I am coping with. Hope everything goes well with you.

Thankyou  Renee. Xx

Hi carol,

my hubby has a fungal nail infection and had his op two weeks ago. He probably never mentioned it as he has the most ghastly feet ever and has had it for so long he didn't think it was an issue!

Wouldnt have thought it would be a showstopper but I'm no expert

good luck whatever hapoens
