hi...i am 6 weeks post total hysterectomy ....had many complications so spent 2 weeks in hospital...1 of them was my bowel as was handled during surgery & i had whats called a paralytic ileus(bowel goes on strike)...i am still struggling to regulate my bowels .....today i have really bad constipation & if i try to push it feels like something is dropping down in my vagina ...any ideas please ?
You could have a vaginal prolapse...i would get it checked out hun....xx
thankyou ..... i will call my doc monday am x
Cant you ring the ward you were on and ask for advice?i know the ward i was on had a treatment room for emergencies...so a dr can see you and advice you...being as though you are only recently post op...xx
Hi Andrea, if it was me I would want to ring the ward about this feeling or go to the doctors. Constipation is the last thing you want as it could bring a prolapse on, in my opinion. Hope you get things sorted.
thankyou....spoke to 111 who said same so will ring doc 1st thing monday morning x
spoke to 111 who said doctor 1st thing monday ....possibly start of a prolapse :-(
Have you tried a strong probiotic?
Poor you, did they give you any laxative on leaving hospital? The constipation and sleepy bowel is quite common - apparantly. Obviously, you had a worse time of it than I did but I drank orange juice with bits in (it has to be the one with bits), plus had lactalose and even had to use suppository. To make a gentle action. Hope it gets sorted for you xx
