I have had severe GAD and depression on and off for 17 years. It goes away spontaneously for months but have had it all day every day now for the past year. I'm not functioning. No meds or therapies work for me. Anyone else experience this pls? I feel like I'm dying.
What are your symptoms..
I’ve never had symptoms that lasted an entire year, but I have experienced anxiety and depression. Have you talked to someone you can trust? I encourage you to find someone to talk to, especially a doctor or counselor. To help you get out of your head some. Are you on any medications? This is a chemical imbalance in our brains, so there’s no shame in doing so.
Im so sorry you are suffering. It’s so hard, I know. I’ve recently got ill with anxiety after coming off my medication as I’d been well for many years. I’ve had to go back on all the medication again. I’m trying other things this time too, like counselling, eating healthily and supplements. So far it hasn’t done much to the way I feel, but I feel like I’m working through it rather than being stuck in it, if that makes sense. I also feel sometimes that there is something physical going on, like an imbalance somewhere. There is no rhyme or reason for the anxiety, I’m not worrying about anything in particular, I just feel on high alert a lot of the time, like I’ve got too much adrenaline in my system and I can’t relax. I’m considering looking into holistic health, but unfortunately it’s expensive, so I’m not sure whether I would be able to afford the extra expense. They help with different systems in your body like digestion, hormones, organ health etc.. Hope this gives you some pointers xx

Your records are known by your GP so you need to go back to the surgery and talk to your GP about the fact you are not functioning. That is all I can suggest.
