Gall bladder pain is this normal

Hi I had a uldersound two weeks ago and they have found several Gallstones and some of them are 1.7cm big. Since then the pain seems to be getting worse I have constant pain under my rib and back ache and now in my bed when I turn over it really hurts like muscle pain. Is this normal?

There was one stone near the top of the bile duct.

I am hoping to see a surgeon at the end of this month as my doctor has referred me.

I had quite an uphill struggle to get a course of Ursodioxycholic acid tablets but after a few months the surgeon

who is very well respected by others in the medical field wrote me a letter which I have kept. He said that 'urso' will dissolve cholesterol type gall stones. He added that he thought it was a horrible way of getting rid of the stones but he knew my age and knew I had two months getting over a cut re a biopsy the same year as my gall bladder problem.  My GP's would not give me a prescription for urso despite a copy of that letter going to them.  He then wrote me the first script & then my GP's had to repeat that script.

Since my symptoms had gone after 6 months he did another ultrasound  and said the biggest stone same as yours at 17mm had decreased to 10mm. The main benefit is that I still have my symptom free gall bladder

which functions as normal.  If I wish I can start a new course to eliminate the two small stones that are left.

The surgeon has sanctioned all what I have done & he wrote me a very nice letter to congratulate me in respect that the urso have suited me admirably and he was pleased for me that I did not have any adverse symptoms what so ever and although he did not admit it (' they' never do) he did not tell me he had learned that some patients can get rid of gall stones without a hitch and that the treatment for me was not at all horrible.........  As I said I would do it all over again without a moments hesitation.

I feel it would be a mistake for any one with gall stones to not research Ursodioxycholic acid and at least give that a go first & then with good medical supervision come out the other side with their own gall bladder intact without any stones in it.   I am just an ordinary chap but I cannot abide stupidity and will now question every mortal thing that doctors do to me and I have very valid reasons for doing that.

I ache constantly, when I'm.in bed at night it's strange it's as if there's an alien inside of me, I can be fine for months then boom starts again. I'm on low fat diet that's helped but I got a stone on the lose and I gets pins and needles x my back in between

by my shoulder blade it really hurts, I just come home from work and keep over on my bed worst pain I've ever experienced. When I walk sometimes I feel as if I got to drag myself because my body won't move it's bizarre tbh x

Have you had an ultra sound to establish if you have gallstones?
